Privacy Policy
StewReads turns AI conversations and generated content into readable artifacts: ebooks, briefs,
coding contexts, audiobooks, email deliveries, and private library entries. This policy explains what
the product stores and why, based on how StewReads works today.
The short version: we collect the information needed to run your account, save the content you ask us
to save, generate and deliver files you request, understand aggregate website usage, and keep the service
reliable. We do not sell your personal information or use your saved library for advertising.
1. What data we collect
We collect different information depending on which parts of StewReads you use.
Account information
When you sign in with Google or Apple, we store the account information needed to identify and secure
your StewReads account: your email address, name, profile image URL when provided, and provider identity
IDs such as your Google or Apple user ID.
Preferences and settings
If you set them, we store delivery preferences such as your delivery email, Kindle email, interests,
auto-send setting, save-to-library setting, and private podcast feed token. These settings control how
StewReads saves and delivers your content, and may be used to personalize product behavior.
Saved content and generated files
StewReads can save ebooks, briefs, coding contexts, source markdown, artifact metadata, generated files,
and artifact versions. Saved metadata can include title, content type, model name or ID, status, creation
time, repository identity for repo-scoped contexts, storage references, file hashes, and file sizes.
If audiobook generation is enabled for a saved artifact, we may also store generated MP3 files and audio
metadata such as audio status, voice, language, duration, errors, and completion timestamps.
Integrations and connected clients
When you connect StewReads to an AI client through MCP or OAuth, we store client registration and token
records needed to authorize that connection. These records can include OAuth client names, client IDs,
redirect URIs, scopes, token hashes, expiration times, revocation status, and last-used timestamps.
If you connect Google Drive backup, we store the Drive account details needed to operate that feature:
Drive email, account ID, granted scopes, encrypted refresh token, folder ID, folder URL, backup run
status, file counts, errors, and Drive file mappings.
Operational records
We keep operational records that help run the service: sessions, refresh token hashes, IP address and
user-agent metadata for sessions, generation jobs, generation events, delivery attempts, feedback, share
links, and service logs used for debugging, security, reliability, and abuse prevention.
Aggregate website analytics
StewReads may use privacy-first website analytics to understand aggregate visits, pageviews, referrers,
acquisition links, approximate geography, device/browser type, and broad engagement with public pages.
We do not send saved library content, generated text, prompts, account emails, OAuth tokens, refresh
tokens, or artifact IDs to the analytics provider.
2. How we use your data
We use your data to provide the StewReads features you ask for:
- Authenticate your account and keep sessions secure.
- Generate ebooks, briefs, coding contexts, and audiobooks from content you provide.
- Save your library when saving is enabled or when you explicitly save content.
- Convert content into EPUB, PDF, MP3, podcast feed, or markdown forms.
- Deliver generated ebooks or links to user-provided email addresses, including Kindle addresses when you configure one.
- Run MCP and OAuth connections so authorized AI clients can save, list, or fetch your StewReads artifacts.
- Back up selected saved artifacts to your Google Drive account if you connect that feature.
- Understand aggregate website usage so we can improve public pages and onboarding.
- Process feedback, troubleshoot failures, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
We do not sell your personal information, use your saved library for advertising, include an advertising
SDK in the mobile app, or make your library public unless you take an action that creates a share or
delivery link.
3. What we share and with whom
We share information only as needed to operate StewReads, complete actions you request, comply with the
law, or protect the service.
AI and text-to-speech providers
Depending on the feature and configuration, content may be sent to AI or TTS providers used for ebook
generation, language detection, or audiobook narration. Current code paths include integrations with
Gemini, Anthropic Claude, OpenRouter-hosted models, OpenAI audio services, Google Cloud text-to-speech,
and allowlisted dev-only audiobook experiments that can call ElevenLabs.
Cloud storage and infrastructure
Saved source files, generated artifacts, audiobook files, and metadata are stored in private Google Cloud
Storage when artifact storage is configured. StewReads also uses cloud-hosted API services and background
jobs to process files only for the requested product functionality.
Email, Kindle, and delivery destinations
When you request delivery, StewReads sends the generated file or link through configured SMTP/email
delivery. The recipient address is one you provide or save, such as a regular email address or a Kindle
address. Once delivered, copies in your inbox, Kindle library, or another destination you control are
outside StewReads storage.
Google, Apple, and Google Drive
Google and Apple provide sign-in identity information when you use those sign-in methods. If you connect
Google Drive backup, StewReads uses Google Drive APIs to create or update your StewReads backup folder and
upload selected saved content to your own Drive account.
Website analytics
If enabled, StewReads uses Plausible Analytics for aggregate website metrics. Analytics events are limited
to page and interaction information such as sanitized page paths, public call-to-action clicks, referrers,
acquisition query parameters, approximate location, and browser/device metadata. StewReads does not use
analytics for advertising retargeting and does not send personal library content to Plausible.
4. How long we keep your data
In general, StewReads keeps account records, preferences, saved artifacts, coding contexts, audiobook files,
Google Drive connection records, and OAuth connection records until you delete the item, disconnect the
integration, or delete your account.
EPUB and PDF exports are generated when needed and are not kept as saved library content unless they become
part of a saved artifact or backup workflow. Share links expire according to their configured expiration
time or can be revoked. Operational logs, delivery records, feedback, and security records may be kept for
reliability, support, abuse prevention, legal compliance, and debugging.
5. How to control or delete your data
You can control your data from StewReads itself:
- View and update your profile, preferences, delivery email, Kindle email, interests, auto-send, and save-to-library setting in Profile.
- Delete saved reads, briefs, or coding contexts from your library.
- Disable future ebook saving in Profile if you do not want new generated ebooks saved to your library by default.
- Disconnect Google Drive backup or disable your private podcast feed from Profile.
- Follow the data deletion instructions at stewreads.com/delete-data.
-
Permanently delete your StewReads account from Profile by confirming with DELETE, or follow the account
deletion instructions at stewreads.com/delete-account.
Account deletion removes StewReads-owned account data and stored artifacts. It does not remove files already
delivered to Kindle, email inboxes, downloaded devices, or your own Google Drive.
6. Security
StewReads uses HTTPS/TLS for app and API traffic. Authentication uses OAuth and JWT-based sessions with
expiration. OAuth and refresh tokens are stored as hashes where appropriate, Google Drive refresh tokens are
encrypted before storage, and saved artifacts live in private Google Cloud Storage. No internet service can
be perfectly secure, so be thoughtful about what you choose to send to any online product.
7. Children
StewReads is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from
children under 13.
8. Changes to this policy
StewReads will update this page when the product or data practices change in a meaningful way. The date at
the top tells you when this policy was last updated.
